In the late 1990's Linda D. Thompson, a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, called on God to give her the vision to use her talents to help restore her community, specifically helping rebuild families. After searching through the Bible, Thompson says her spirit was led to read the book of Nehemiah. Feeling that the story of Nehemiah was an assignment God gave to a man and not a woman, she felt her spirit was misled. Months later, after asking God the same question her spirit was again led to the same book. This time she was firmly convinced that this was the path God wanted her to follow.
